Current Trends:
Bengals:
The Bengals are 6-6 entering Week 14 and coming off a big win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, 34-31. They are 4th in the AFC North, three games behind the first-place Baltimore Ravens, who sit at 9-3. The Bengals came in at 20th on A to Z Sports' Week 14 Power Rankings. According to Pro Football Focus, the Bengals have graded out as the 16th-best offense and the 28th-best defense in the NFL this season.
Colts:
The Colts are 7-5 entering Week 14 and are currently on a four-game winning streak after their Week 13, 31-28 overtime win over the Tennessee Titans. They are 2nd in the AFC South, one game behind the Jacksonville Jaguars at 8-4. The Colts are currently in the NFL Playoff Picture as the 6th seed in the AFC. The Colts came in at 12th on A to Z Sports' Week 14 Power Rankings. According to Pro Football Focus, the Colts have graded out as the 25th-best offense and the 22nd-best defense in the NFL this season.
Opponent Player Spotlight of the Week:
Joe Mixon:
With Joe Burrown out for the year, the Bengals have to focus on their run game and Joe Mion at a higher rate than before. In recent weeks, the Colts have struggled against the run without Grover Stewart. While he is back this week, the Colts will be without starting LB EJ Speed, and the Bengals could look to attack his replacement. Mixon is yet to record his first 100-yard game this season, his season high is 87 yards. To beat the Colts I believe the Bengals will look to end that streak and look to get Mixon going early and look for him to have his best day of the season.
Colts Player Spotlight of the Week:
Grover Stewart:
The Colts are getting their anchor in the run game back this week from his suspension in, Grover Stewart. Stewart explained this week that he is excited to be back on the field and throw people around, and I think I speak for Colts nation when I say they are excited for him to be back as well. With Mixon likely to be a big part of the Bengals offense without Joe Burrow, Stewart is going to be looked to to make a big impact in his first game back from suspension.
