Draft season is ramping up in a big way with pro days happening all over the country. The Indianapolis Colts are among the teams using these pro days as opportunities to learn more about the top quarterback prospects.
As many as four quarterbacks could realistically be selected within the first 10 selections of the 2023 NFL Draft. Indianapolis is set to pick at No. 4 overall, and it seems likely that at least two signal callers will already be off the board.
The Colts attended CJ Stroud's pro day earlier this week. Now, Indianapolis is set to be at the University of Kentucky, where Will Levis will go through his pro day on Friday in front of NFL scouts.
Levis is one of the handful of quarterbacks generating early first-round hype. At 6-3 and 232 pounds, Levis features a big frame behind center to pair with a strong arm that can push the ball down the field.
The former Kentucky quarterback had his ups and downs on the collegiate level, which makes his evaluation tricky. On one hand, it's easy to get excited about his natural ability and size. On the other, his inconsistency and decision making leaves some to be desired.
Indianapolis Colts area scout Mike Lacy is making the stop in Lexington on Friday to get another up-close view of a quarterback that the team is considering. A pro day does not reveal a ton given the relaxed setting, but it is still noteworthy that the Colts have somebody in attendance.
There is a very good chance that Levis will be one of the two quarterbacks on the board for the Colts to choose from in April, along with Anthony Richardson. Stroud and Bryce Young are expected to be the first two picks.
Therefore, the Indianapolis Colts are doing their due diligence on Will Levis. Friday is one of their most important stops of the pre-draft process.
