While the Colts had extensive interest signing free agent Kareem Hunt, the running back has left his visit without signing a contract with the team. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network was the first to report this.
I can confirm Pelissero's report that the Colts made an offer to the RB, but ultimately Hunt elected to see what else is available at this time before making his decision.
An interesting element to this report is the offer the Colts made to get Hunt to leave New Orleans before even working out for the Saints was a higher number than the Saints had interest in offering. And it was reported that Hunt was set to sign with the Saints before the call from the Colts changed his mind. This makes me think Hunt is curious if other RB-needy teams around the league could pay even more.
With the state of the RB market being so low, it will be in the best interest of all RBs to get as much as they can on the open market. Especially if the rumors are true that some RBs across the league were not happy when Joe Mixon elected to take a pay cut to stay with the Cincinnati Bengals.
