On the same day that it was announced that Jonathan Taylor is rehabbing his ankle injury away from the team, a veteran RB is on route to Indianapolis for a visit.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network was the first to report RB Kareem Hunt heading to Indianapolis for a visit.

The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Kareem Hunt in the 3rd round of the 2017 NFL Draft. His rookie season would go on to be an incredible success as he would start all 16 games for the Cheifs, rushing for 1,375 yards and eight touchdowns. His impressive season would lead him to be named a Pro Bowler.

Hunt's 2nd season wouldn't go as well, as he would only appear in 11 games due to injuries. Then in the offseason, Hunt would officially be suspended by the NFL due to violations of the league's conduct policy, resulting in the Kansas City Chiefs releasing the RB.

He wouldn't be out of a job long as he signed with the Clevland Browns, where he served out his suspension. Since then, he has been with the Browns for the past four seasons (2019-2022), where he has been viewed as one of the best backup RBs in the league behind Nick Chubb.

  • 2019 :
    43 attempts, 179 yards, 2 touchdowns
  • 2020:
    198 attempts, 841 yards, 6 touchdowns
  • 2021:
    78 attempts, 386 yards, 5 touchdowns
  • 2022:
    123 attempts, 468 yards, 3 touchdowns

Hunt entered free agency this offseason, and his market seems affected by the recent RB market plummet across the NFL. All signs Tuesday pointed toward Hunt signing with the New Orleans Saints, but things took a shift. Dianna Russini of ESPN was the first to report how Hunt's visit with the Colts came to be.

Russini reported that the Colts offered more money to get Hunt to take the visit. This implies that the team has increased interest in making a deal with Hunt.
