The Indianapolis Colts begin their 2023 season this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As we prepare for this Sunday's game, I wanted to answer some of the questions that were submitted to me by Colts fans.

Every Friday of the season, I will be dropping a "Colts Fan Bag" article answering questions that fans sent to me ahead of the Colts upcoming matchup.

Colts Fan Bag Friday Week 1:

For the first week of "Colts Fan Bag Friday," two topics dominated the questions submitted. The first being the Jonathan Taylor cloud that has been at the forefront of most national coverage of the Indianapolis Colts over the last couple of months. And the other being the highly anticipated start to the Anthony Richardson era in Indianapolis.

Jonathan Taylor Questions:

Q: Will Jonathan Taylor be on the sideline Sunday?

A: With Jonathan Taylor being on the PUP list, I wouldn't expect to see him on the sideline for this Sunday's game, even without considering his ongoing trade request. But then adding that element into the equation makes it even more unlikely Taylor is present on the field for the team's season opener.

Q: What will the Colts plan at RB be while Jonathan Taylor is out?

A: The Colts have notably been active on the veteran free agency market as they've had contact with players such as Kareem Hunt, Melvin Gordon, and James Robinson. This leads me to believe the team would prefer to add a RB to this team eventually. But as they didn't sign one before their season opener, they will roll with a committee of Zack Moss (if cleared to play), Deon Jackson, Evan Hull, and likely a practice squad call-up of Jake Funk or Jason Huntley.

Anthony Richardson Questions:

Q: What will Anthony Richardson's stat line be against the Jaguars Week 1?

A: Shuttlesworth is bringing the hard-hitting questions, but I'm up for the challenge. Here is my prediction for Richardson's Week 1 stat line:

Passing: 17/26, 220 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception

Rushing: 9 rushes, 58 yards, 1 touchdown

Q: Is the hype around Anthony Richardson real?

https://twitter.com/ClickRoss15349/status/1699805366735745319

A: I'll start by answering the 2nd part of Ross' question, "Has he improved that much since the evaluation process." I think the element that has exceeded expectations is how hard Richardson has worked since stepping in the team building. The team already thought he was a hard worker, but his desire to be great has been off the charts, and I believe that alone has him ahead of schedule. Now, when it comes to Ross' first question, "Is the hype real?" I think the only person who will ever really be able to answer that question is Anthony Richardson, with his play on the field. I will say that the team very clearly believes in the young QB, which is why they announced him as the Week 1 starter.
