The NFL should consider doing Indianapolis a solid to soften the blow of a future mistake of taking something from the city

The 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone, and Green Bay, Wisconsin, did a fantastic job hosting the event. The next two locations for the draft are now known. Pittsburgh is set to host in 2026, and the NFL has announced that the nation's capital will host the event in 2027. There are multiple deserving cities that […]

The 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone, and Green Bay, Wisconsin, did a fantastic job hosting the event.

The next two locations for the draft are now known. Pittsburgh is set to host in 2026, and the NFL has announced that the nation's capital will host the event in 2027.

There are multiple deserving cities that could land the honor of hosting the NFL Draft in 2028, but in my opinion, Indianapolis is the logical choice

Indianapolis should at least get to host the NFL Draft in the near future if the league is going to move the Scouting Combine away

Time and again, the city of Indianapolis has shown that it is one of the best at hosting large events, especially in the sports world. Indianapolis has gotten the chance to host the Super Bowl, the Final Four of NCAA's March Madness, an entire March Madness tournament, and the College Football national championship, and knocked each out of the park, along with multiple other events.

The city has also had the honor of being the host of the NFL Scouting Combine since 1987. The event brings all 32 NFL teams and over 200 prospects in a given draft class all in one spot to cover multiple important components of the draft cycle. It's most well known for the on-field drills where athletes are able to show off their athletic skills. However, for teams, the ability to meet in person with prospects and get detailed medicals done for prospects in attendance is just as valuable, if not more valuable.

Over the years, the city of Indianapolis has perfected the process of this event down to the most minimal details. And with this event being so important for the league, draft prospects, and fans, the NFL can't afford for the event not to be handled correctly each year. Even though they know this, the league has been considering moving the combine out of Indianapolis and treating it as they've treated the NFL Draft in recent years by moving it to a new city each year. Why would they do this, you ask? Money, of course.

Despite the rumors, Indianapolis has continued to host the event and is set to do so again in 2026. But many around the league believe it is a matter of when, not if, the league elects to move the event out of Indianapolis, to allow cities to bid on the chance to host the Scouting Combine. I think moving would be a major mistake, but if that's going to be the case, I think it would only be right that the NFL give the city the chance to host the NFL Draft. It's one of the few major sporting events the city hasn't had the opportunity to host yet, and like they've done every time they get the chance, I think they would kill it. This time next year, the league will announce the host city for the 2028 NFL Draft, and I hope the league does the right thing and brings it to Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Colts should bring back a familiar face who is still available on the free agency market ahead of the 2025 season

The Indianapolis Colts have had an active offseason, especially in terms of addressing their secondary. Their two biggest free agency offseason signings were safety Cam Bynum and cornerback Charvarius Ward. Both will be day one starters and will drastically improve one of the team's most significant weaknesses from last season. The team still needs more depth […]
