With this performance, Taylor moved up the ranks on the team's All-Time rushing yards list. Now, just one man stands in his way of being the Colts' all-time leading rusher.

Jonathan Taylor moves into second on the Colts' All-Time rushing leaders list

Taylor's big Week 16 added 218 yards to his season and career totals. And it was enough to pass Lydell Mitchell to become the team's second all-time leading rusher with 5,711 yards. NFL Hall of Famer and Colts Ring of Honor member Egerrin James is the only player he now trails.

James holds the Colts record for most rushing yards with 9,226 yards. He did this on 2,177 carries and in 96 games. Taylor currently trails him by 3,515 yards in 31 fewer games and 1,026 fewer carries. So if Taylor can keep up his current career pace, the hope would be that he could become the team's all timer rusher in the next three or maybe four years.

Taylor will be 28 years old in three years, so this timeline is more than plausible. The biggest hurdle will be Taylor's ability to stay healthy. Either way, getting to his point at just 25 years old is a big accomplishment for the Colts running back. And I'm sure he won't feel satisfied until there is no one left above him in the team's history books, which has multiple all-time greats during the team's storied past.
