More bad RB news for the Colts
Zack Moss breaks his arm
The Colt's woes at the RB position continued Monday as Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported that Zack Moss broke his arm during practice.
Teams always hate to see players go down with injuries. The ongoing disputes with Jonathan Taylor, though make losing Zack Moss even worse. Moss has had the largest portion of the 1st team snaps with Taylor sidelined. Moss's injury will have him out of action well past when the Colts will cut their roster down to 53, which will give an even larger opportunity to the team's other backs rostered.
After Moss, Colts rookie Evan Hull has had the largest share of 1st team snaps. And has looked quite impressive as both a pass catcher and a runner. If the Colts elect to roll with the players currently rostered through this trom, Hull will likely be the next man up to project as the team's starter.
Another route the team could explore would be signing a free-agent running back. Which normally, this time of year, the market would be pretty bear, but that is not the case this year. Due to the ongoing RB market crash, multiple talented backs remain unsigned. Some notable free-agent RBs still available include:
- Dalvin Cook
- Ezekiel Elliott
- Kareem Hunt
- Leonard Fournette
