The Indianapolis Colts are coming off a devastating loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 15, and morale around the team seems to have reached its lowest point of the season.
So, the team and the fanbase could use any good news right about now. This is why the news of second-year cornerback Juju Brents being designated to return to practice is such a big deal.
Colts CB Juju Brents returning to practice from the IR

The Colts were forced to place second-year CB Juju Brents on the IR after suffering a knee injury in the team's season opener vs. the Houston Texans. This injury felt backbreaking for the Colts early in the year, with their secondary having so many questions surrounding it during the offseason. But the duo of Jaylon Jones and Samuel Womack III have played solidly all season long on the outside. With Brents now returning to practice, this would give the Colts another trustworthy boundary CB that can hit the rotation.
That word rotation seems important right now, though, because I would be shocked if the Colts just handed Brents his starting job back due to how well Jones and Womack have played. Behind those two, though, the Colts don't have a reliable option, so getting Brents out there will be a big boost. The Colts' playoff odds are on life support, but getting Brents out there to try and get some good film and rhythm ahead of next season would be big. This upcoming offseason and training camp will be major for Brents, who needs a strong showing to prove he should be a part of the team's long-term plans at CB.
Who should be held accountable for yet another failure of a season for the Indianapolis Colts
With the Indianapolis Colts falling on their face and losing in Week 15 to the Denver Broncos, their chance of fulfilling their goal of punching a ticket to the AFC playoffs has been put on life support. And if the most likely scenario happens where they miss the playoffs, they will have to look in the […]

What makes this loss sting even more is knowing the Colts were in a position to take a two-score lead in the third quarter, and they fumbled the opportunity, literally. The biggest mistake of Jonathan Taylor's career […]
