Quarterback Anthony Richardson connected with third-year wide receiver Alec Pierce for a 60-yard touchdown.

And just when you think it couldn't get more impressive, Dan Johnson from the DraftKings Network shared a wild stat about how fast Alec Pierce was running on the play. Spoiler alert: he one-upped Kansas City Chiefs speedster Xavier Worthy and Miami Dolphins star WR Tyreek Hill.

"21.21 mph. That’s what Alec Pierce topped out at after the inward cut on this post route. To put it into perspective, we all thought Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy’s jet sweep speed on Thursday was game-breaking. He topped out at 18.45 mph, almost 3 mph slower than Pierce.

Tyreek Hill’s career-long 80-yard touchdown catch from Tua only saw Tyreek top out at 20.42mph."

It's a big honor for Pierce to even be in the same conversation in terms of speed as Worthy and Hill. But for him to be clocked going faster than both is something I'm sure no one was expecting.

Pierce has already shown off his speed multiple times in his football career. During the Scouting Combine of his draft year, he ran his 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds, which earned him an elite speed grade from RAS and a 9.83 (out of 10) overall score.

Last year, the entire Colts passing game took a massive hit with the news of Richardson having to miss the majority of the season due to his shoulder injury. But no player was personally affected more than Pierce, whos deep route running ability is truly his bread and butter as a WR. And we saw in Week 1 just how special the two can be together, which should have fans pumped for the future.

Below are the two plays Johnson referenced in terms of Pierce being clocked with a higher top speed than Worthy and Hill.
