The NFL throwback jersey revolution is continuing in 2024, with the Jacksonville Jaguars being the latest team to announce that they are bringing back one of their cleanest uniform combos in franchise history.

The Indianapolis Colts and their fans get the pleasure of seeing them this week when the two teams face off in an AFC South showdown for their Week 5 matchup

With multiple teams bringing back throwback jersey sets, people have been begging the Jaguars to bring back their teal "Prowler" uniforms. With the Jaguars starting out the season 0-4, they needed something positive to get the team and their fans excited. And while the start of the season has been rough, now the Colts are coming to town, and both fan bases know all about the Colts' current losing streak in Jacksonville.

The Colts' recent struggles in Jacksonville are rough, to say the least. The team hasn't won in Jacksonville since 2014 and has had some absolutely embarrassing losses during this stretch. But all of those losses have involved the Jaguars playing in different jerseys than the Prowler throwbacks. The Jaguars made a drastic change to their jerseys in 2013, diverting from the old-school look that many have grown to look back fondly on today.

So, the Jaguars turning back the clock with these jerseys also reminds me of the days when the Colts dominated the Jaguars and the rest of the AFC South. Who knows, maybe this blast from the past is just what the doctor ordered for the Colts to finally break this dreaded curse. And I know what you are thinking, "curses aren't real." I mostly agree with that statement, but the Colts' struggles in Jacksonville have made me a believer, so maybe something as silly as a throwback jersey can help break the curse once and for all.
