The Jacksonville Jaguars haven't had the season anyone thought they would. Sure, maybe you were one of the people saying this wouldn't be a playoff team, but I'm sure you didn't think they would be 2-6 through eight games.
They are looking like one of the worst teams in the league, and if there was any hope left to get their season back on track, or what's left of it, well, that may have just gone right out of the door.
We knew the injury was bad, but now the Jaguars have just confirmed for everyone that they will be without one of their best players for a while.
According to the team, he will be put on IR for the remainder of the season, as he undergoes season-ending surgery.
“I’ve loved every moment being a part of this organization, and hopefully will spend many more Sundays in a Jags uniform," Kirk wrote on Instagram.
The Jaguars were hopeful that the trio of Kirk, Gabe Davis, and rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. would be a special show in Jacksonville. While some of that has been true with the rookie being pretty good, despite a few mistakes here and there, the Jaguars have failed to put really anything great on the field.
Kirk will make a recovery and bounce back.
The Jaguars will play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, and then the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, and Houston Texans to round out a tough stretch of games.
