A few years ago many thought that Doug Pederson was going to be the coach that got the Jacksonville Jaguars to the promised land, no matter how long it took. I mean, it was a fair thought to have considering he did it with the Philadelphia Eagles not too long ago. Well, it didn't take long to show that wasn't true. The last two seasons were a disaster under him after going to the postseason the first year. The first year and second year saw the same exact records, but the second year saw the team collapse after a first-place lead in the AFC.

Now they have fired him and general manager Trent Baalke. They hired former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen in what turned out to be a huge debacle, and are still looking for the general manager to replace Baalke.

They also still need some staff members under Coen. They have already tried to hire, or at least showed interest in one offensive coordinator candidate, but one of their NFC foes pulled the rug out from under their feet.

Jaguars don't land Rams' Nate Scheelhaase

According to Ian Rapoport, the Jaguars were interested in Los Angeles Rams pass game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase, but the Rams plan to keep him in LA after just one year.

Scheelhaase started coaching at the University of Illinois before moving to Iowa State in 2018. There, he progressed from running backs coach to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach by 2023.

His success at Iowa State led to his NFL career with the Rams in 2024, where he now helps develop the team's passing strategies under head coach Sean McVay. His work has caught the eye of other teams, with interest from the Jacksonville Jaguars and even rumors of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers being interested as well.

The Jaguars had the carpet pulled from under their feet, but they still ended up getting their guy just hours after this report. The Jaguars end up hiring Grant Udinski.
