The business of football is one of the toughest businesses in the entire world. You make all of these connections and then the next day pretty much, you have to trade, cut, fire, or anything else you can think of, to that player. The Jacksonville Jaguars are in the business of the NFL, and they are trying to be in the business of winning. So, they have to be open to doing some things they wouldn't normally do if it means getting to be a winner quicker.

One of those things may just be cutting some of your better players. I know it sounds crazy. But, if that player will save you some money so you can get a greater amount of players that are good and are in more needed spots, why not do it?

The Jaguars will face several situations like that over the course of the next few months. And, this may sound crazy to some fans, but there's an NFL camp expert out there who believes the Jaguars could cut Christian Kirk.

NFL cap expert suggests Jaguars cut Christian Kirk

I know, it sounded a bit crazy at first, but listen to his explanation.

"$10.5 million in savings to move on from him," Mike Ginnitti, founder of Spotrac told 1010XL. "But, you're right, there is a reason he was brought in and I think for the most part he has done his job when healthy, but that healthy part has been a big problem for a lot of the Jaguars. This is probably a situation where you move off of his contract and try to sign him again this offseason.

"It's a really rough receiver market, which, by the way, is another reason to keep him. A, he may be overvalued in free agency and not be able to be brought back, and it's not a situation where he will be easily replaced. It's a tough choice. Again, if the plan is to subtract aggressively and not add aggressively, you're moving on from $10.5 million here from Christian Kirk."

Kirk has the biggest cap hit on the roster at $24.1 million, $5 million higher than the next player. So, yeah, they could do that if they really wanted to. But, what would that do to the offense? Sure, Kirk has been hurt, but when he plays, and the offense is moving, he's the best player on the offense at times.

And, replacing him won't be easy at all. This draft class stinks at the wide receiver position. There are so many decisions to be made and all of them are tough. This one will mainly come down to what new head coach Liam Coen thinks they should do and how it would benefit or hurt his offense.

Only time will tell. But, there feels like a bit of a concern there, too. Will cutting Kirk help you keep up with the AFC South in the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, and the Indianapolis Colts?
