Ja’Marr Chase reacts harshly to Ravens trading for Maxx Crosby and all Bengals fans can relate
Ja’Marr Chase didn’t take the news well.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is not happy about the Baltimore Ravens trading for defensive end Maxx Crosby.
Chase was streaming on his Twitch channel Friday night upon learning the news, and he did not hold back his reaction.
“How the (expletive) did we let this (expletive) go to the (expletive) division, bro!?” Chase exclaimed.
Baltimore gave up its 2026 and 2027 first-round picks to land Crosby. The five-time Pro Bowler will officially be facing the Bengals twice a season once the trade becomes official next Wednesday when the 2026 League Year ensues.
Chase himself is a five-time Pro Bowler, but he wanted Crosby to land in Cincinnati, not Baltimore.
Ja’Marr Chase’s pitch to land Maxx Crosby falls well short
It was only a month ago Chase was thinking about Crosby being traded to become his teammate, not his new rival. Chase told Kay Adams during the week leading up to Super Bowl LX he wanted the Bengals to trade for Crosby.
“I wanna go with your boy from Vegas, though. Maxx Crosby,” Chase said on Feb. 4.
Chase said later in the day he was pushing Cincinnati’s front office to take a big swing for somebody on the defensive side of the ball.
“Hopefully the organization’s going to it right now, hopefully,” Chase said on the Pat McAfee Show. “I’m pretty sure everyone knows what we need. I’m not going to say what we need, but I talked to Zac [Taylor] about that. I’m definitely pushing, you know what I’m saying, to get something good for the defensive side. We just need something, of course, you know, somebody.”
A non-zero chance he was referring to Crosby there as well.
Crosby landing with Cincinnati’s most successful AFC North rival in recent years makes this move all the more impactful to Chase, who clearly let his emotions get the better of him in the moment.
“It’s not over we just gotta (expletive) block his (expletive),” Chase said on his stream. “Oh my god that’s crazy chat. My bad y’all, my bad bro, like oh my god.”
While the price to land Crosby was immense, the Ravens are getting one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. That’s enough to make any Bengals fan, or player, react. Chase and Cincinnati will have to overcome Crosby’s impact to get past Baltimore for the AFC North title.
