The Los Angeles Chargers may have their head coach sooner rather than later. After firing Brandon Staley during the season and getting a head start on their HC search, a clear favorite for the opening in Los Angeles has emerged.
According to betting odds, Michigan Wolverines HC Jim Harbaugh is the heavy favorite to become the next head coach of the Chargers.
Harbaugh's odds have steadily increased, and he's held the top spot over the past handful of days. Over just a few days, his odds have increased to -500 from -160. That's a sizable jump, considering the lack of hiring movement elsewhere around the NFL.
The Chargers seem to have their guy, but the process is not quite done yet. Harbaugh interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday, and he could have more meetings lined up. Only time will tell.
That being said, Los Angeles may be one of the few openings to not have to wait on the conclusion of the next postseason round to get their next HC. He may be available already.
