The Las Vegas Raiders’ open head coaching job is now down to two candidates. Denver Broncos pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb, along with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, seem to be the leaders and the only two candidates for the job.

Former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady were both in the running for the job Tuesday morning, but Brady soon signed a five-year deal to become the head coach of the Buffalo Bills.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Daboll is accepting and committing to the Tennessee Titans as their offensive coordinator. This means Daboll is effectively out of the running for the Raiders HC job. This also means the Raiders are down to just Kubiak and Webb.

Daboll was the only remaining candidate with previous head-coaching experience. Now, the Raiders will be hiring someone who’s never been a head coach, which means they’re taking a path similar to that of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears.

The Raiders now have to ask an important question

Vegas is down to Kubiak and Webb, which means they have to ask themselves an important question. Do they want Kubiak, an offensive coordinator who is having massive success right now, but has been an offensive coordinator three other times without much success? So, is this more about just having the perfect situation around him with very good players like the Seahawks have? Or is Kubiak ready to turn a franchise around?

As for Webb, he’s never even been an offensive coordinator. Is that a coach they feel like can turn a franchise around despite the lack of experience? However, Webb is better suited as a quarterback whisperer for Fernando Mendoza, the Indiana quarterback and likely No. 1 overall pick.

There are some questions that need to be answered, and they may be answered very soon.
