Raiders just made it well known that there is another candidate they consider to be one of their potential finalists
The Raiders have another head coach candidate that they consider a potential finalist in Joe Brady.
Another candidate is now in contention for the Las Vegas Raiders’ head coaching job. Interviewing does not signal strong consideration, but a second interview does.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Raiders have completed their second head coaching interview, this time with former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady. Previously, Denver Broncos passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb and Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klink Kubiak were regarded as the leading candidates for the job. With Brady receiving a second interview, he appears to be among the most seriously considered candidates.
The Raiders previously showed interest in Mike McDaniel, the former Miami Dolphins head coach, but he has signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as their offensive coordinator. On Monday’s edition of The Pat McAfee Show, Schefter indicated that, along with Brady and Webb, former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll is also being considered for the Raiders’ head coaching job.
Brady and Webb appear to be the strongest options if the Raiders intend to draft Fernando Mendoza
Brady has worked with some pretty elite quarterbacks during his time as a coach. When he was in the college ranks, he was the offensive coordinator of that dominant LSU Tigers team that won the National Championship with Joe Burrow, the current Cincinnati Bengals QB.
He’s also coached Josh Allen, a two-time MVP and one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league. Webb has worked with Bo Nix and played quarterback in the NFL. Both have strong resumes, but if the Raiders want a splash hire, Brady stands out.
This is a guy who is highly regarded as an elite coach and a magnificent offensive mind. The Raiders would like to go get an offensive-minded coach to pair with Mendoza, and Brady feels like a guy who could turn Mendoza into a special player.
