The Las Vegas Raiders got the best overall player in the 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday night, despite the fact he plays a position that isn't as important as others. But it's a good draft so far, to say the least.
However, the work isn't done yet. The Raiders still have picks on day two, which are the second and third rounds. Sometimes, this is where a team makes the real money. This is where you find out which teams are really good at scouting talent and which aren't.
The Raiders have two picks as of day two, with one coming in each round. They pick at No. 44 and No. 77, but that could change based on any trades made. So, before the draft tips off on Friday night, let's predict exactly who they will pick.
Predicting Raiders' day two picks
Pick No. 44 – QB Spencer Rattler, South Carolina
The Las Vegas Raiders could not get their quarterback on day one. Their plan was destroyed from the get-go. It all started at pick No. 8. The Atlanta Falcons were on the clock and about to do the craziest thing we had seen in years.
After giving Kirk Cousins a huge contract in free agency, which is fully guaranteed through 2025, they decided they should draft quarterback Michael Penix at No. 8. The Raiders were not able to trade up for QB Jayden Daniels, who went No. 2 overall to the Washington Commanders, as most of us thought he would. It was chaos. But that happens in the draft, and they have to keep moving and find a new solution to the problem.
I think the Raiders don't wait and take a gamble on the later rounds, but they should go ahead and get a quarterback who can give O'Connell and Minshew a run for their money in training camp.

Pick No. 77 – CB Renardo Green, Florida State
This is where things get tricky. Do they go with an offensive tackle or snag a cornerback? I think they will be content enough with the possibility of Thayer Munford starting for the Raiders in 2024 but also having an offensive tackle to duel for the position. So, they go cornerback.
Green is one of the more underrated and slept-on cornerbacks in the draft. He should probably be a second-round pick, but with the way the draft board went on Thursday, there is a chance he falls to the third round.

If they can end day two with these two players, I'd call it a successful draft day once again.

They can still add some really good players.
