The Las Vegas Raiders had one big question on their mind coming into this season. Who was going to step up and be the CB2 across from Jack Jones? Well, after training camp and preseason, they figured out exactly who after great games against the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, and San Francisco 49ers.

In their previous draft before the one that just happened, the Raiders took Jakorian Bennett, and while he had a quiet rookie season, he has risen to the occasion and has the exact confidence he needs now going into his first season as a full-time starter. When the initial 53-man roster came out, he undoubtedly made the cut.

“Not too many people can run past me. (Jack Jones & Nate Hobbs) go out there with their swag, they’re talking. They know I’m a dog too. Win my 1-on-1 matchup, they win their 1-on-1, and it’s gonna be fun to watch.”

Bennett was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth round (104th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. His selection was seen as a strategic move to bolster the Raiders' secondary with his speed and defensive skills. He's fast, very fast, and now that he's refined his ball skills and ability to be sticky in coverage, he's even better going into his second year.

In his rookie season with the Raiders in 2023, Bennett played in 14 games, showing promise with his defensive plays despite being a rookie. His stats included 32 tackles, with 24 solo, and three pass defenses, indicating his growing impact on the team's defense. He only started four games for the team.

Heading into his second year, Bennett continues to express confidence in his physical and mental readiness, suggesting a positive outlook for his development and contribution to the Raiders.

In this Patrick Graham defense, with Jack Jones across from him and Nate Hobbs playing at nickel, Bennett can have a very good sophomore season. And, let's not forget the crazy defensive line not giving the opposing team offense any time at all. This season could be a move for Bennett.
