The Detroit Lions are about to play in the biggest game of the season on Sunday night when they welcome in the Minnesota Vikings and face them for a chance to have the number one seed in the NFC and the NFC North crown. The Lions have made some pretty big moves ahead of time, here's what they did:
Activated Alex Anzalone
This is the one Lions fans have been wanting to hear all week long. Anzalone returned to practice on Wednesday after breaking his forearm against the Jaguars in Week 11. He went from a limited practice on Wednesday to two full practices the following days and got a questionable designation. It looks like he's going to be a go on Sunday.
Activated Kalif Raymond
The Lions also get their return man back and that could be a big help in the field placement game. Raymond was having a Pro Bowl caliber season as a returner before his injury, here's hoping he gets right back to that. He also adds another wrinkle for the Lions offense.
Placed Emmanuel Moseley on Non Football Injury/illness list
There's been a bug going around with the Lions lately. Whatever it is, it's bad enough to take Moseley off the roster and put him on the NFI list.
Signed Morice Norris to active roster
Norris was signed to the Lions' 53-man roster for the last game and now he's back on the practice squad. Still, the Lions are looking to have him up again as a little insurance with Emmanuel Moseley out for this one.
Signed Tom Kennedy to practice squad
Kennedy is back on the practice squad. This is absolutely no shock at all.
Elevated Chris Smith from practice squad
Smith is getting another shot this season. The Lions have had him up in some matter for four games now. We haven't seen him play too much when he's been active, but maybe this week in a big game.
Elevate Stanley Thomas-Oliver from practice squad
The Lions just signed Thomas-Oliver a couple of weeks back and this will be his first NFL game since 2023 when he was with the Panthers. With Moselely out, the Lions needed to have some help at corner.
Za’Darius Smith can put some more money in his pocket if he does this for the Lions on Sunday night, good thing this is a game he’s been looking forward to
The Detroit Lions are about to play in the biggest game of the season with a chance to take home the NFC North crown and the first seed in the NFC. For Lions' edge rusher Za'Darius Smith, this is a very big game for two different reasons. The first is that he gets the chance […]
