The Detroit Lions aren’t done building their team just yet. Days before they’re slated to open OTAs, the Lions are adding a veteran linebacker to the team. The Lions are signing Zach Cunningham.
Cunningham was a second round pick out of Vanderbilt in the 2017 NFL Draft and spent five seasons with the Houston Texans. In 2020 he led the NFL in tackles with 164 combined and 106 solo. He wound up being one of the highest paid linebackers in the NFL.
In recent years Cunningham has dealt with some injuries that have caused him to miss a lot of games and bounce around to the Titans, Eagles, and Broncos. The latter of which is where he was around new Lions OC John Morton.
