Lions place Dan Jackson on season-ending injured reserve
This was not the news that anyone wanted to hear to start the week, but the Detroit Lions had to place a sixth-round pick on the season-ending injured reserve. We don’t quite know what happened to Jackson outside of it being a leg injury, and we’ll update this story as soon as we do, but that’s a tough pill to swallow since he was expected to make the 53-man roster and be that rotational safety 4.
In addition to the Jackson news, the Lions also waived undrafted rookie running back Kye Robichaux, who was also injured. We didn’t get to see a lot of him, but the Lions have already seemed to have moved on with the signings of Jabari Small, who got a heavy dose of action in the preseason game, and All-UFL running back Jacob Saylors.
Speaking of UFL, the Lions have added another cornerback in one of the open roster spots that they have right now. That’s former Michigan Panthers corner D.J. Miller. The former Kent State standout has some NFL experience with the Kansas City Chiefs, but in the UFL, he was a starter right here in Detroit for the Panthers. He finished the season with 29 tackles and two interceptions. With Ennis Rakestraw getting hurt on Sunday, he may get a real chance to show what he can do this summer.
