The Los Angeles Chargers are in the midst of a battle for a spot in the AFC playoffs.

Through the first 12 weeks, they sit second in the AFC West with an impressive 7-4 record and are currently the sixth seed in the AFC playoff picture.

In the latest A to Z Sports mock draft, their selection will make both Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert smile ear to ear.

"The Chargers need a tight end and Loveland is both from Michigan and one of the best in the class. Need I say more?"

New A to Z Sports mock draft

Harbaugh's work to rejuvenate the Chargers' offense in his first season as their head coach has been beyond impressive. And He's helped Justin Herbert look like the best version of himself. Looking towards 2025, getting another trustworthy pass catcher to take some of the pressure off Herbert's shoulders.

In the latest A to Z Sports mock draft, they were able to land both Herbert, a pass catcher, and Harbaugh, a familiar face from his tenure as the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines, with the team landing Michigan tight end Colston Loveland. Loveland is a dynamic TE who will have a solid argument to be the top TE drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.

He would be able to come in on day one and have a solid understanding of Harbaugh's offensive system. He has all the traits needed to develop into an elite TE in the passing game. Pairing Herbert and Loveland together would give both something each has had to play without. Loveland has yet to have a quarterback with Herbert's ability as a passer, and Herbert has had multiple band-aid options at TE. This pick truly feels like a match made in heaven for all parties involved.
