The Los Angeles Chargers have a lot of impending free agents, such as linebacker Denzel Perryman, running back J.K. Dobbins, and cornerback Kristian Fulton.
However, ESPN analysts Mike Tannenbaum and Lindsey Thiry believe that the Chargers will make a splash in free agency by acquiring big names from outside of the organization, as well as in the NFL Draft.
While making some 2025 offseason predictions, Tannenbaum said he thinks Los Angles will sign Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins and draft Miami Hurricanes tight end Elijah Arroyo, propelling quarterback Justin Herbert to the MVP award.
"He'll (Herbert) be in his second season with coach Jim Harbaugh and coordinator Greg Roman," Tannenbaum wrote. "The Chargers will also sign the Bengals' Tee Higgins and draft Miami's Elijah Arroyo, giving Hebert two more playmakers for him to boost his MVP case."
Those moves would certainly position not only Herbert to have a big year, but the Chargers to make a run at the Super Bowl. Pairing Higgins with Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston, who are on rookie contracts, would make a lethal trio of WRs. Adding Arroyo in the mix, one of the top TE prospects in the draft, could give L.A. one of the best passing attacks in the league.
Thiry's prediction would also give the Chargers' offense a boost, as she would like to see the team sign former All-Pro WR Davante Adams.
"Wide receiver Davante Adams signs with the Chargers," Thiry wrote. "If the (New York) Jets move on from Adams, the Chargers should sign him ASAP. In Jim Harbaugh's first season, they lost in the wild-card round with a floundering offense. Justin Herbert needs a true No. 1 receiver, and Adams fits the bill."
Adams is on the back half of his career, but was still productive in an otherwise abysmal Jets' offense last season, catching 67 passes for 854 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games. He would not only bring some extra firepower to the Chargers' WR corps, but also some invaluable veteran experience and leadership.
NFL insider echoes what a lot of people are saying about Joey Bosa’s future with the Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers are nowhere even close to the same salary cap situation it was in at this point last year, but the team still has a big decision to make when it comes to Joey Bosa's future in L.A. At this point, it's up in the air. Bosa is coming off a year […]
