The Los Angeles Chargers have a secret weapon that a lot of casual fans and media may not know about. They are a team that has had their fair share of red zone issues, mainly when Mike Williams and Keenan Allen are out, but it seems this year they have a solution.
The Chargers aren't a bad team in the red zone, per se, but every team has struggled there from time to time. Even the Chiefs have had their fair shares and struggled to score there sometimes.
On Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings stacked defense, they scored a red zone touchdown and it looked fairly easy, even though it likely wasn't. That's because Herbert went to Donald Parham, the big tight end no one knows about.
On first and goal, the Chargers sent Parham to the flat on the right side, and he was so open he walked right in. The Chargers will need that all year, and so far this season, Parham has done just that.
That is Parham's ninth touchdown in just 45 career receptions, which has taken him four years. However, he already has two red zone touchdowns this season.
Parham has the size and route-running ability to be good in the end zone, and he showed it on the Chargers' first score. Let's see if they continue to utilize him the right way.
