Important pieces of his Michigan Wolverines staff are headed to LA to join the veteran head coach.
Strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter are joining the Chargers staff.
The Minter addition is not fresh news, but Herbert's allegiance is. Herbert told players during a team lift on Monday morning.
Herbert was seen as a massive factor for the Wolverines in recent seasons. They would not have seen their immense success without him. Now, he heads to the NFL alongside a couple of his favorites guys to coach alongside.
Harbaugh coined Herbert as Michigan’s “X-factor” and “secret weapon” in recent years.
Herbert was also the associate head coach with Harbaugh at Michigan. He was one of the highest-paid strength coaches in college football prior to this move. According to details of the deal, Herbert now owes Michigan a $1 million buyout fee to break up the contract. He's taking a big risk, but he knows that the NFL with Harbaugh his the best place to be for his future.

Wasting no time.
