With just over a week remaining until the 2025 NFL Draft, mock drafts are flying around like crazy. It is easier to overlook one here or there. One that caught my eye for the Los Angeles Chargers is the most recent one from Field Yates and Mel Kiper Jr. on ESPN.

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh won a national title at the University of Michigan. In this mock, he put those allegiances behind him and selected two impactful Ohio State Buckeyes.

It was a three-round scenario from the draft duo for ESPN. Check out the Chargers' picks and my thoughts below.

Chargers' picks in latest ESPN mock draft

22. Los Angeles Chargers – Kiper's pick: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert would love Egbuka's crisp route running and sure hands on the outside. Los Angeles can build its receiver room back up around him, Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston, with Mike Williams providing a veteran presence after his return this offseason.

Egbuka has been used in the slot quite often, so that fit alongside McConkey is a bit interesting. Regardless, I think both players are talented enough to find success alongside one another.

Plus, Johnston and Williams provide the bigger-body targets than LA needs, along with multiple veteran tight end options. With how the board fell, this choice made sense to me. Harbaugh knows Egbuka's game really well.

55. Los Angeles Chargers – Yates' pick: Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State

Two Ohio State players for former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh? Look away, Wolverine fans! But the power of Judkins would fit what Harbaugh wants, and the Najee Harris signing won't stop the Chargers from further addressing the backfield. Judkins ran for 14 TDs last season.

For Judkins, it is a bit of a different situation. Harbaugh did not coach against him while the RB was a Buckeye. Regardless, he has the gritty running style and power that blends well with his athleticism.

You won't find a tougher RB room than Harris and Judkins in the entire league – if this were to happen for Harbaugh's offense.

86. Los Angeles Chargers – Kiper's pick: Rylie Mills, DT, Notre Dame

The Chargers gave up 4.7 yards per carry last season, 27th in the NFL. They could use more depth up the middle behind Teair Tart. Mills displays explosiveness and strong hands, which allow him to gain an immediate leverage advantage. He could probably play either 3-4 defensive end or 4-3 defensive tackle in the pros.

Addressing the defensive line sometime between the first two days is a must for the Chargers. They could also use a cornerback at this pick, but Mills was a defensive fan favorite with the Irish for a reason.

He runs a hot motor and can play a role on the DL in year one for the Chargers. The pass rush would get a boost from the interior, without having to use their first-round pick on an edge rusher.

These three rookies would be a start to a strong class for Harbaugh's team. I like this scenario plenty for the Chargers.
