The Los Angeles Chargers fell in the "Harbaugh Bowl" during Week 12 against the Baltimore Ravens. John Harbaugh got the best of Jim Harbaugh. In the process, one of the top offensive players for LA suffered an injury too.
Dobbins injury
Current Chargers and former Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins suffered a knee sprain. He will not play in Week 13 and could miss time past that.
The injury begs the idea that a curse may exist between Dobbins and the Ravens. Dobbins played for Baltimore from 2020-2023, a span where he suffered multiple serious injuries.
Now, in his first game against his former team, he got banged up once again.
Of course, there was no ill will or dirty play from the Ravens to cause the sprain for Dobbins, but the luck, or lack thereof, is certainly unfortunate for the running back who has seen a resurgence in 2024. So far this season, the 25-year-old is ranked 12th in the NFL in rushing yards (766) and ninth in rushing touchdowns (8).
Gus Edwards will slot in as the starting RB for the Chargers with Dobbins out. Expect more playing time for rookie Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins.
Los Angeles could also look to add a veteran RB to the room for additional depth. With Edwards' injury history, that is probably a route that they should take for the time bring.
