The Los Angeles Chargers have an important offseason ahead of them.

They're in good shape with the salary cap at around $70 million to work with, but have a lot of big decisions to make on their own impending free agents, such as linebackers Khalil Mack, Denzel Perryman, running back J.K. Dobbins, and cornerback Kristian Fulton.

In the opinion of ESPN analyst Matt Bowen, the Chargers will lose Mack and Dobbins. Here is what he had to say about Mack specifically:

"The (Green Bay) Packers adding Mack to pair with Rashan Gary would boost their pass rush off the edges," Bowen wrote. "Mack had six sacks and 41 pressures in 2024 with the Chargers. And even though he's turning 34 this week, he's still a three-down force with the steady play speed to heat up the pocket."

He also had this to say of Dobbins:

"How about Dobbins signing with the Browns to replace Nick Chubb as Cleveland's new lead runner?" Bowen stated. "The offense fits his traits well with both gap and zone schemes. And Dobbins looked explosive on the tape throughout last season, though he missed four games because of a knee sprain. He finished 2024 with 907 rushing yards and seven touchdowns."

It would certainly be a blow for the Chargers to lose Mack and Dobbins, but Bowen also identified Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly and Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa as perfect fits for Los Angeles' roster in 2025.

"Jim Harbaugh's club needs more out of its centers, and Kelly plays with a physical demeanor that could fit the Chargers' run game," Bowen said about Kelly's fit with L.A. "An on-the-field leader with excellent football awareness, Kelly had a pass block win rate of 95.9% (sixth best among centers) and didn't allow a sack last season. So he can help secure the pocket for quarterback Justin Herbert, too."

Harbaugh is a believer in building the trenches, so potential interest in Kelly makes a lot of sense. Quarterback Justin Herbert was sacked 44 times in 2024, which ranked in the middle-of-the-pack of the league. Finally, here's what Bowen had to say about the Chargers possibly acquiring Odighizuwa:

"An impact defender who can bring energy to the defensive line, Odighizuwa fits in the Chargers' base 3-4 under front and could provide pass-rush upside in nickel/dime sets," Bowen said. "Odighizuwa had 4.5 sacks last season, and his 30 pressures were tied with the Jets' Quinnen Williams for the second most among defensive tackles."

Odighizuwa would really solidify the Chargers' defensive line and give them a big push up the middle. Even though he plays a different position, it would help offset the loss of Mack. Regardless of how the offseason shakes out, L.A. will look to construct its roster in order to take the next step forward in becoming a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
