The Los Angeles Chargers got some tough news on Tuesday morning. Justin Herbert will miss the rest of the season with a finger injury. He's set to get surgery on it, but he will have plenty of time to recover for next season.
As for now, they made another QB move on Tuesday afternoon.
The Chargers signed former Heisman Trophy finalist Max Duggan to their 53-man active roster.
Duggan was the 239th overall pick in this year's NFL Draft. He won 2022 Big 12 offensive player of the year for the TCU Horned Frogs. He led the Frogs to a College Football Playoff appearance, too.
In his college career, Duggan threw for over 9,000 yards, 73 touchdowns, and had a 60.3% completion percentage. He also ran for 1,856 yards and 28 touchdowns.
Duggan attempted just twelve passes during the preseason for Los Angeles. He will most likely be the backup for Easton Stick for the remainder of the season for the Chargers. He could see some starting time if Stick struggles as well.
