The downer is that the Charges will be without Palmer and likely Taylor for this game. Palmer exited Week 17's game against the New England Patriots due to a heel injury and did not play last week against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Taylor was able to return to practice on Thursday in limited fashion after missing Wednesday's, but it doesn't look like he'll be available on Saturday. Fortunately, it appears that cornerback Eli Apple is likely to return from injured reserve and play.

Fehoko is also coming off injured reserve, but the Chargers only have one open roster spot, which they'll probably use for Apple with Taylor likely being out. Coach Jim Harbaugh hasn't shed much light on the severity of the thigh injury or illness of Johnston, so he could be a game-time decision.

Perryman will give Los Angeles' defense a boost after missing the final two games of the regular season with a groin injury. Dobbins was limited in practice all week, but the Chargers were likely just being cautious with him. His backup, Edwards, is poised to return from an ankle injury that has cost him the last two games.
