It has now been confirmed that the Los Angeles Chargers had to make their latest trade.
Cornerback J.C. Jackson was traded back to the New England Patriots after things had not worked out between him and the Chargers, the team he signed a large deal with in 2022.
The final straw came against the Las Vegas Raiders when Jackson refused to enter the game when a teammate was injured. Jackson was a healthy scratch the week prior. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was the first to report.
Jackson was asked to enter the game for cornerback Michael Davis when he was shaken up in the third quarter of the 24-17 win over the Raiders. The former Pro Bowl cornerback refused to go into the game, reportedly saying he wasn’t warmed up enough.
Without Jackson on the field this year the Chargers are 2-0. A separation had to happen for both sides and it happened to land Jackson back with the Patriots where he saw success over the first four years of his NFL career.
Now, it makes a lot more sense why the trade was made following the Raiders game this early in the season.
Arrest warrant for J.C. Jackson reportedly lifted after arriving back in Massachusetts
Good news for the Patriots.
