The Los Angeles have begun their search for a new head coach. They've got some noteworthy strengths and tough weaknesses that go along with their organization's opening at HC.

A mixture of proven leadership and new blood are among the top suitors to replace Brandon Staley. The betting odds are telling right now.

Who are some of the candidates with the best odds to be the Chargers' next head coach?

  • Jim Harbaugh (-200)
  • Giff Smith (+400)
  • Ben Johnson (+500)
  • Bill Belichick (+600)
  • Mike Vrabel (10/1)
  • Eric Bieniemy (11/1)
  • Kellen Moore (14/1)
  • Lincoln Riley (16/1)
  • Dan Quinn (18/1)
  • Bobby Slowik (20/1)
  • Brian Flores (25/1)
  • Frank Smith (25/1)

As you can see, there's been quite a bit of movement and momentum for current Michigan Wolverines HC Jim Harbaugh. He just won a national championship and has a track record in the NFL as a winner.

Among the other top candidates, Ben Johnson is the sole young assistant elsewhere that resides in the top 8. The Detroit Lions OC is one of the hottest candidates on the market.

Additionally, Mike Vrabel and Bill Belichick are both far from long shots to be the Chargers next head man. Belichick is arguably the greatest coach in NFL history, but he's also a defensive mind who is older than 70. LA may go with an offensive play-caller after the Staley debacle.

For Vrabel, he just surprisingly lost his job with the Tennessee Titans. Teams view him as a top-tier candidate. He's a former Coach of the Year award winner and a tough-minded leader.

There's an intriguing blend of talent among the odds to be the next head coach for the Chargers. Who is your top option?
