Rams still have a shot at getting the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft but the odds aren’t in their favor in Week 14
The Rams need some help to climb the draft charts, but Week 14 presents some challenges.
The Los Angeles Rams are having one of their best seasons in recent memory, thanks to the play of Matthew Stafford and a savvy defense. To go along with their Super Bowl expectations, they also have an additional first-round pick this year, courtesy of the Atlanta Falcons. With the Falcons currently in disarray, their pick resides in the top ten of the 2026 NFL Draft.
With just a few games left, the margin is getting narrower, but it is still possible for that pick from the Falcons to finish first overall this year. The Falcons will need to lose out (something that is possible with their schedule), but will need help from around the league to finish with the top pick.
There are three specific games to monitor in Week 14 and as it just so happens, the Rams need the underdogs of all three games to win in order to keep pace for the No. 1 pick. It’s definitely not an ideal situation, but this is the NFL and as we know, anything is possible.
With that being said, here are the three outcomes LA would love to see come to fruition on Sunday.
New York Jets OVER Miami Dolphins
The New York Jets did the Rams a favor this weekend when they went ahead and beat the Falcons outright. They need to keep that momentum going into this weekend when they take on a divisional foe in Miami. The Dolphins narrowly beat the Jets back in Week 4, and the Jets will need to return the favor at home this weekend.
The Jets won’t have many more opportunities to get wins, and even just one win would move them ahead of the Falcons’ pick, allowing that first rounder to rise up even higher.
Tennessee Titans OVER Cleveland Browns
There’s really no great outcome here, as win or lose, both teams will still be ahead of the Falcons pick at the end of the weekend. However, we’re thinking long-term here. Tennessee does not have many more opportunities to earn wins throughout the rest of the season, with the 49ers, Chiefs, Saints, and Jaguars all ahead of them. Cleveland, on the other hand, has the Bears, Bills, Steelers, and Bengals, and the chaos of the AFC North could allow them to steal some wins there at the end.
If Tennessee can steal a win this weekend, it puts the Falcons one step closer to their record atop the draft.
Las Vegas Raiders OVER Denver Broncos
The last time these two teams met, it was an ugly 10-7 Thursday Night Football slopfest. The Raiders are at home this time, they fired Chip Kelly, and the Broncos have looked nothing but beatable for weeks. Is it enough to make up for the three points this weekend to beat Denver? I don’t know, but a Raiders win here would help even up their record with Atlanta’s, and the Raiders don’t have a lot of opportunities left to snatch wins.
