Los Angeles Rams reload the defense, give Matthew Stafford a shiny new weapon for another Super Bowl push in latest 7-round 2026 NFL Mock Draft
How can the Los Angeles Rams attack the 2026 NFL Draft with an additional first-round pick?
The Los Angeles Rams are flying high right now, sitting atop the NFC as the best team in the league. Quarterback Matthew Stafford is having an MVP-level season, the defense is playing lights out, and the schedule is lining up for them to make a deep playoff run.
With their success, fans aren’t really thinking about the 2026 NFL Draft, but having the Atlanta Falcons’ first-round pick makes things really intriguing for the future of the Rams. How can they attack the upcoming NFL Draft to stay atop the NFL?
Los Angeles Rams 7-Round NFL Mock Draft
Round 1, Pick 11 (via ATL): Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee
The Rams are getting surprisingly good play out of Cobie Durant and Emmanuel Forbes, but neither of them are answers I’m comfortable with as a true boundary CB1 who can consistently match up and lock down the best receivers week in and week out.
Jermod McCoy hasn’t played all season long as he recovers from an offseason ACL injury, but he’s still comfortably the top coverage option in this class. His instincts and competitive toughness are traits the Rams covet, and it helps that he’s a young, elite athlete out there. Sign me all the way up.
Round 1, Pick 31: Denzel Boston, WR, Washington
Davante Adams has delivered on the expectations the Rams had for him when they signed him in free agency this offseason. However, he isn’t going to be around forever, and I think he will likely retire at the end of next season when his contract expires. The Rams will need an outside, true X receiver to replace his role, and Boston can be exactly that.
Round 2, Pick 63: Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
Right tackle Rob Havenstein has regressed as injuries have caught up to him over the years, and the Rams will need to find his replacement. Miller brings terrific athleticism and play strength to his game, and could slide right in to shore up LA’s offensive line.
Round 3, Pick 95: Justin Joly, TE, NC State
Terrance Ferguson will eventually step into the TE1 role currently held by Tyler Higbee, but if the Rams want to continue their recent adventures with 12 and 13-personnel, they’ll need to keep investing in the tight end room. Joly is a strong “move” tight end prospect that the Rams can deploy all over the formation, giving their offense even more complexity to give defenses more headaches.
Round 5, Pick 171: Red Murdock, LB, Buffalo
Nate Landman has emerged as the leader of the linebacker room, but the overall room still needs more talent throughout. Murdock is a tone-setting defender with tremendous physicality and tackling ability. He fits exactly what the Rams have coveted at linebacker over the years and would give them another special teams ace.
Round 6, Pick 196 (via HOU): Tao Johnson, SAF, Utah
A former wide receiver turned defensive back, Johnson is a smooth mover with good range, ball skills, and versatility. If the Rams want to keep Quentin Lake in his role as the “Star” defender, they’ll have to keep adding to the safety room, and Johnson would be a nice upside swing.
Round 6, Pick 211: Hezekiah Masses, CB, Cal
I’m tripling down in the secondary here. All of Durant, Ahkello Witherspoon, and recently-acquired Roger McCreary will hit free agency, and I don’t imagine the Rams will bring all of them back. Masses brings some good size at 6’1, 190 pounds, and his five interceptions currently are tied for the lead in FBS.
Round 7, Pick 234 (via BAL): Drew Azzopardi, OT, Washington
The Rams don’t have a lot of needs, so these Day 3 picks are more or less going to be about shoring up competition at key spots. I would continue to invest in adding at offensive tackle to try and build up depth and add a legit swing tackle. With D.J. Humphries and David Quessenberry both likely leaving in free agency and Warren McClendon only having one year left on his rookie deal, they need to keep investing here.
