Stetson Bennett was one of the biggest comeback stories to watch in college football and could be much of the same at the NFL level.

Bennett is getting a fresh start with the Los Angeles Rams after missing the entirety of his rookie season due to reasons that were previously undisclosed, but have been revealed to fall under the umbrella of mental health.

And he's been nothing short of impressive since making his return, turning the heads of many, including the one who matters most in this situation. That's Rams head coach Sean McVay.

“There were some opportunities where Stetson came in,” McVay told reporters during the week. “I was really pleased with his overall improvement, his command, like I mentioned, his attention in the meetings and then when he got his opportunities, whether it was in some 7-on-7 or even in some of the team periods, they’re taking steps in the right direction."

This is not the first time the two-time national champion has received praise from McVay since making his way back to Los Angeles, with the head coach making note of

"I mean, he looks good. He’s had a good look in his eyes," McVay said back in April. He’s been attentive in the meetings and then I’m looking forward to next week to being able to get out on the grass with all of our players and Stetson being one of them.”

Bennett is largely expected to the Rams' No. 2 quarterback while Jimmy Garoppolo serves his suspension for the first two games of the year.

The Georgia product will aim to cement a backup role for himself more permanently afterward — whether that ultimately proves to be with the Rams or another team.
