It may be safe to pencil one expensive Dolphins veteran in particular into the team’s plans in 2026

“All indications are positive”

There’s a ton of upheaval set to take place in South Florida with the Miami Dolphins.

First it was the general manager. Then came the head coach. A brand new assistant staff was put into place. And now we’re starting to see the pieces on the roster juggled, too. It’s a wall-to-wall remodel for the Dolphins. But some players haven’t seen their names swept up in the hoopla and the speculation thus far this offseason. It’s a pretty exclusive club. And, per a new interview between Josh Moser of WSVN-Fox and agent Drew Rosenhaus, we can pencil defensive tackle Zach Sieler into that group.

Zach Sieler appears to be in good standing with the Dolphins entering 2026

Moser asked Rosenhaus if the Dolphins, who are in cash-cutting mode, had approached him or Sieler about a potential reworking of his contract — which Rosenhaus offered some insight on. No, Miami has not asked Sieler about adjusting his pay or compensation. And, per Rosenhaus, that kind of conversation would have happened by now under normal circumstances.

“Usually, when you have a client that is going to be asked to restructure, typically those conversations would have taken place at this point. Certainly not going to speak for the Dolphins and what the future may hold but all indications are positive relative to Zach and the Dolphins for this upcoming season,” explained Rosenhaus.

Sieler and Miami’s trio of second-year defensive tackles gives the Dolphins a strong foundation to work with inside. Ideally, perhaps the team would have an interior pass rush specialist to add to the mix — but the retention of defensive line coach Austin Clark and another year of Sieler on the interior, despite an underwhelming 2025, should have the makings of a sturdy portion of the roster in 2026. Unless, of course, there’s a sudden change in plans from where we stand now and the start of the season with Sieler. You can never say never, but things seem to be looking good as we enter the NFL Combine.
