'Him and Hutchinson together in Detroit would be like cheating' Father of All-Pro edge rusher would like to see his son traded to the Lions, Brad Holmes has shown interest

The Detroit Lions very well could have had the Defensive Player of the Year on their squad this season. Aidan Hutchinson was putting forth an unreal campaign. He was so good that he hasn't played since Week 6 and he's still in the top 25 in pressures. He would have been number one with a bullet if he were healthy.
The Lions went out and got Za'Darius Smith and Smith has been tremendous in four games. He's had 20 pressures and four sacks. The Lions' edge rusher combo next year could be pretty good, but what if it was even better? What if it had the addition of an All-Pro edge rusher?
Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons' dad Terrence Parsons is certainly a fan of that. On the Life in the Stands podcast, he was asked where he would like to see his son traded to, and he named three teams: the Chiefs, Steelers, and Lions.
Ok, let's talk about it because there is a lot to talk about here. First off, would the Cowboys even do it? I think there's a chance they would. The Cowboys are a team that is on the verge of blowing it all up. They actually kind of have to. The team is aging and will be looking for a new quarterback soon and they don't have the best cap situation going forward.
Ultimately the thing that makes more sense is that Parsons becomes a free agent after the 2025 season and he leaves Dallas. Would Detroit be able to sign him after they've got their guys signed to new deals? Anything is possible, but make no mistake, it would be hard though. Very hard.
Brad Holmes the Lions have shown a lot of interest in Parsons in the past. In 2021 they had multiple pre-draft visits with him and talked to him on the phone many times. They rightly chose to go with Penei Sewell with their first-round pick and Parsons went to Dallas five picks later.
We talked not long ago about how important pre-draft visits are to the Lions and in 2025 they'll have their first shots at some of the guys they met with in 2021 and weren't able to draft. We'll see if they wind up with any of those guys. We'll see if Parsons winds up in Detroit in 2026.
Comeback Player of the Year feels like Joe Burrow’s award to win, but here’s why Lions’ receiver Tim Patrick deserves it more
The Comeback Player of the Year award has been a constant source of arguments and controversy as of late. It's the award that you would think is handed out to the player who got through adversity to come back and play again. Last year the award was given to the guy who simply came off […]
