The Minnesota Vikings have one of the best rosters in the National Football League, and it's becoming very clear as we enter the top 10 of our countdown.
Of the first batch in the top 10, all of them were acquired by general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah since he was hired.
- Trade: 1
- NFL Draft: 1
- Free Agency: 3
The 2025 free agency class kicks off the second-to-last group of our countdown.
10. DT Jonathan Allen
The biggest free agent addition of the Vikings' 2025 offseason was Allen, who is coming off of an injury plagued 2024 season where he partially tore his pectoral muscle and played in just 10 games. That and being 30 years old raise some fair questions.
However, there is one game from late in the season that shows he's still got it: the divisional round against the Detroit Lions. He got pressure on quarterback Jared Goff seven times in that game, creating havoc the entire game. With an excellent edge rusher room surrounding him, Allen will be able to make the same kind of impact in Minnesota.
9. WR Jordan Addison
The Vikings arguably have the best wide receiver duo in the National Football League because of Addison. Of course, having Justin Jefferson is a massive part of that, but Addison more than pulls his weight.
Through two seasons, Addison has seasons of 910 yards and 10 touchdowns and 875 yards and 9 touchdowns. His route running and deep ball ability have each been tremendous assets for the Vikings over the last two years. With his growth over the past two years, J.J. McCarthy has a tremendous asset that hasn't come close to reaching his full potential.
8. TE T.J. Hockenson
Going into last season, Hockenson might not have ranked as highly. He was coming off of a torn ACL that he suffered against the Detroit Lions on Christmas Eve of 2023. He came back halfway through last season and looked like the same player.
Hockenson thrives in many ways, especially running choice routes. He's lethal going across the middle and up the seam, especially against linebackers, where they can't keep up with him. McCarthy showed a lot of aptitude in throwing over the middle to the tight end in college, something that he will be able to do from the jump with the Vikings.
7. CB Byron Murphy Jr.
The Vikings haven't had a great cornerback on the roster since Xavier Rhodes was an All Pro in 2017. It's been a tumultuous position for the Vikings this century, and the addition of Murphy stabilized it.
He was signed ahead of the 2023 season to be a versatile chess piece for Brian Flores, and he's delivered. He had six interceptions in 2024, earning a starting spot in the Pro Bowl Games. That performance got him a three-year deal worth up to $66 million, and he's somehow just 27 years old.
6. EDGE Andrew Van Ginkel
Even though Van Ginkel was a second-team All Pro in 2024, he might be one of the more underrated players in the entire National Football League. His 11.5 sacks were a great sign of his production, but so was his two interceptions returned for touchdowns. That has continued to start training camp, as Van Ginkel housed one in the first practice. He's a big part of the Vikings' excellent defensive front.
