The Minnesota Vikings were hoping to see cornerback Stephon Gilmore return on Monday night against the Chicago Bears, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

According to insider Josina Anderson, Gilmore is unlikely to suit up on Monday night, as he is still recovering from the hamstring injury he suffered in week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals.

This is disappointing for the Vikings who were hoping to have Gilmore return. He did miss practice on Thursday and Friday but returned in a limited capacity on the final day of practice this Saturday.

Without Gilmore, the Vikings will be relying more on Shaquill Griffin and Fabian Moreau to hold down the fort with Byron Murphy Jr. on the opposite side.

It is worth noting that the Vikings have been playing more man coverage with Gilmore on the sidelines and it's been working. Will they try playing more man coverage once Gilmore returns? Only time will tell on that front, but it's a noteworthy change.
