There's no one more beloved in New Orleans than Drew Brees. The future Hall of Fame quarterback will join the Saints' franchise Hall of Fame class during the 2024 season.
Brees revealed a revelation that will probably make fans tear up a bit that wear the black and gold.
Brees says his arm injury prevented him from playing three more years.
"Honestly, if my right arm was still working I probably would've played another 3 years."
Brees also noted that he can only throw with his left arm now. His right arm is basically out of commission completely. The legendary QB truly gave the Saints all he could until the end of his playing days.
Brees says he uses his left hand to throw to his kids nowadays. He's apparently gotten pretty good at it, too. Practice makes perfect, right?
"I can drop a dime 30 yards left-handed" — Brees
The former Saints quarterback also admitted that he strongly considered returning in 2021.
Those reports were not false. It was tough for him to stay away from the Saints, but his health forced him to do so.
All in all, it is a tough pill to swallow for Saints fans. They wanted Brees to keep playing if he was healthy enough, but that just could not happen. Since his retirement, the QB position has seen plenty of fluctuation in recent years in New Orleans.
