For the second week in a row, Drew Lock will be the starting quarterback for the New York Giants. On Wednesday, head coach Brian Daboll announced that he team plans to start Lock, and Tommy DeVito will be limited at practice because of his forearm injury.

When the Giants decided to bench Daniel Jones, and then part ways with him, DeVito was announced as the starter. However, he got injured during his first start, a 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers two weeks ago.

Drew Lock, who in the offseason signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Giants to be Jones' backup, started in the 27-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. Lock completed 21 of 32 passes for 178 yards and an interception, plus he led the team in rushing with 57 yards and a touchdown.

Daboll said it's unclear at this point if DeVito will be ready to play on Sunday, so the Giants decided it's better to prepare with Drew Lock for the full week. Ahead of the Cowboys game, it was a short week, so the preparation was limited.

If DeVito is good to go, he will be the backup on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. If not, the backup will be Tim Boyle, who started the season on the Miami Dolphins and has been with the Giants since November 19.

The Giants are officially eliminated from playoff contention with a 2-10 record, including seven consecutive losses this season.
