Malik Nabers was targeted eight times by New York Giants quarterbacks on Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He had four catches in the first half, none in the second.

Nabers, arguably very fairly, seems to believe it should've been more than that.

"No," Nabers bluntly told reporters when asked if something was different in the first to second half. "I was open."

In the NFL world, that's about as much as you need to make it seem like you're throwing the quarterback under the bus, which is particularly relevant in a week in which Daniel Jones' starting gig is being questioned. Even if that wasn't Nabers' intention, reporters swarmed Giants head coach Brian Daboll with his thoughts on the rookie's quotes.

Daboll's answer was simple and to the point.

"When you when you lose a game like that," Daboll told reporters on Monday. "I hope people are frustrated."

Daboll, who had not heard Nabers' comments himself but was rather briefed by the media, agreed with his rookie: "He was open a lot."

"I don't want to imply what he was or what he wasn't saying," the Giants head coach added. "I have good conversation with all our guys. We'll have one right here in a minute. I respect Malik (Nabers). I respect all our guys. Again, I don't want to imply as to what he said or what he didn't say. If he said he was open, he was open quite a bit."

On Monday, Daboll confirmed to the media that Daniel Jones will continue to be the starting quarterback of the Giants, claiming Drew Lock won't even get first-team reps in practice as the team turns the page to face the surging Pittsburgh Steelers.
