Giants set to host former Bills and Jaguars WR Gabe Davis for an in-person visit

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Giants are set to host free agent WR Gabe Davis. The Buffalo Bills drafted Gabe Davis in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent the first four years with Buffalo, where he caught 163 passes for 2,730 yards and 27 touchdowns. The best year of his career came in 2022, when he set career highs across the board with 48 receptions, 836 yards, and seven touchdowns (he has done this three times in his career).
He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2024 free agency and got a three-year, $39 million contract. Things didn't work out in Jacksonville, as he finished with a lackluster 20 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns, far and away the worst year of his NFL career. As a result, the Jaguars decided to release him just one year after landing him in free agency.
Davis put up back-to-back years with at least 700 yards and seven touchdowns in his final two seasons with the Bills. He played under the Giants' head coach Brian Daboll when he was the offensive coordinator for the Bills in 2020 and 2021. So he knows Davis and knows that he is a better player than he showed last season. He would easily be the Giants ' fourth-best WR the moment he signed on the dotted line and would probably compete to have a larger role than people would realize.
