We learned this week that there's a new mystery involving Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
In the Bengals' win against the Arizona Cardinals last week, Burrow wore some black and white Air Jordan 1 cleats.
The former LSU standout has also been wearing the cleats at practice this week.
On Wednesday, Burrow was asked about the cleats a couple of times, but he wouldn't give up any details. In fact, Burrow said "I don't know what you're talking about" when asked about the cleats by a reporter.
Last week during practice, Burrow was spotted wearing his normal cleats. So this is definitely something new for the superstar quarterback.
One fun theory is that Burrow can move around better with his calf injury in the Jordan cleats (which would seemingly check out considering the way Burrow player against the Bengals).
I'm skeptical, though, that Jordan cleats would make any difference when it comes to Burrow's calf.
It seems like a more logical answer would be that Burrow has some sort of deal in place with the Jordan brand and it simply hasn't been announced yet. There's no other reason for Burrow to brush aside the question (especially since he's asked about his wardrobe fairly often).
I guess we'll have to wait to see what transpires over the next few days/weeks. But I have a feeling the mystery of Burrow's cleats won't remain a mystery for long.
