The NFL's gambling policy has been a hot topic this offseason and we've already seen multiple players suspended for different violations.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, there are more suspensions on the way. Multiple NFL players, including Indianapolis Colts cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, will soon face the music and it's not going to go well.
The immediate thought is the anonymous players (outside Rodgers, of course) gambled on NFL games. The year-long suspensions are reserved for players who place that type of bet – much like Calvin Ridley, who was suspended for the entire 2022 season after betting on his own team, at the time, in the Atlanta Falcons.
Teams are taking their own initiative to educate players and staff in order to avoid any potential discipline. A lot of them chose to go over everything with their players during mandatory minicamp since the subsequent weeks are the true "vacation time" for all involved. The last thing anyone wants to deal with is a dumb mistake during the dead period.
Hopefully NFL players can get a good grasp of everything and avoid more news like this down the road. But until then, fans are going to have to keep their fingers crossed that the next update doesn't involve their team.
