Eagles already linked to former All-SEC performer during NFL Scouting Combine week
The Eagles have their eyes on a former Tiger already.
The Philadelphia Eagles are wasting no time getting to know particular 2026 NFL Draft prospects during this year’s NFL Scouting Combine week. Their first reported visit came with a player who has plenty of draft experts scratching their head – while also giving him a potential day two grade.
Eagles meet with LSU’s Harold Perkins Jr. during NFL Scouting Combine
According to Ryan Fowler, LSU linebacker/hybrid Harold Perkins Jr. had a meeting with the Eagles and Green Bay Packers on Monday evening.
Perkins had ahis fair share of inconsistencies during his LSU career, but his physicality and athleticism jump off the page. He was selected first team All-SEC in 2022, second team All-SEC in 2023, and third team All-SEC in 2025.
The potential is there when it comes to his profile, but it will be about landing in the correct spot for his devolvement in the pros. He must go to an NFL team that will be able to unlock the perfect role for him, whether that is closer to the line of scrimmage or roaming a bit more in the secondary.
“This is why projecting Perkins’ draft stock is a difficult puzzle to crack. He no doubt has the tools, ability, and upside to be worth a top-100 selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, he’s a unique, untraditional prospect, and trying to figure those out is always a challenge. There’s a role and a pathway forward for Perkins to be an impact playmaker in the NFL if a team is willing to make that gamble and investment. Of that, I have no doubt.” — AJ Schulte
The Eagles clearly have their eye on one of the most unique, versatile skill sets in this year’s class.
It is unknown where Perkins will play at the next level, due to his experience at a multitude of spots during his college days. He rushed off the edge, played linebacker, and even a safety-type of role for LSU from the time his career started to finished.
Philadelphia may lose safeties Reed Blankenship and Marcus Epps, along with linebacker Nakobe Dean during free agency. Those outcomes will certainly affect how the Eagles navigate their draft board in late April.
