The Philadelphia Eagles made noise on the first day of NFL free agency.

General manager Howie Roseman broke his streak of not paying running backs and agreed to a pretty hefty deal with ex-New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley.

The Eagles also spent some money on signing former New York Jets defensive end Bryce Huff.

More "big" moves are to come from Philly, but for now, they're expected to cool down on the spending for a moment and sign New Orleans Saints linebacker Zach Baun to a one-year contract, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The details of Baun's contract have not been released, though you can expect his contract to be a lesser deal.

Baun was initially selected by the Saints in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

In four seasons with the Saints, Baun played 62 games with 14 starts. He is fresh off a 2023 season where logged 30 tackles, two sacks, and four QB hits.

The Eagles' linebacker position was among their weakest links last season. Baun may not come in and be a starter but he'll provide quality depth.

Baun's versatility is exciting since he can be utilized as an off-ball linebacker and pass rusher.

You can expect the Eagles to make additional moves to bolster their linebackers group in free agency and during the 2024 NFL Draft.
