The NFL trade deadline is creeping up.

Teams have until Tuesday, November 4, at 4 p.m. ET to make their final trades. After that, teams can’t make a trade until the next league year begins in March of 2026.

This deadline has some wondering what the Philadelphia Eagles might do before then with No. 1 wide receiver A.J. Brown.

Over the weekend, The Athletic’s NFL insider Dianna Russini discussed the trade deadline, and she did not completely shut down the possibility of Brown heading to a new team, even if Eagles’ general manager Howie Roseman did over the offseason.

Here’s what Russini said:

“While we’re talking about big-time receivers teams could sniff around before the trade deadline in early November, Philly’s A.J. Brown, who had a quiet Week 1, drew some interest months ago. But teams poking around during the offseason were told by Eagles GM Howie Roseman flat-out: No dice.

We’ll see if anything changes in the coming weeks as we again monitor Brown’s connection with Jalen Hurts.”

A.J. Brown Kicks Off 2025 Season With Minimal Targets

A.J. Brown trade talk started up after he finished Week 1’s 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys with one catch on one target for eight yards, which didn’t come until late in the fourth quarter.

Brown didn’t have much to say after the game when pressed about his lack of targets.

“You know, that’s not something I can control,” Brown said. “What I can control is my effort for when the ball does come my way.”

Fast forward to Week 2 in the Eagles’ 20-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, and Brown was targeted eight times, hauling in five catches for 27 yards.

While those numbers are still not ideal for the Eagles’ top receiver, I believe it’s still way too early to think Brown could end up with another team.

But we’ll see how things play out in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams.
